Can’t Wait for Episode VII? LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales is Here!

LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales

Back in February, you may remember I attended a conference in San Francisco. One of the many highlights of the Dad 2.0 Summit was a private tour of Lucasfilm! Sponsored by LEGO, it included a screening of top secret footage from an upcoming LEGO Star Wars project. Well, that project is now set to premiere, and I’m as giddy as a Gungan!

LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales is a five episode series that acts as a helpful (and hilarious) way to catch up prior to December’s premiere of Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens!

As with The LEGO Movie and other LEGO films, many laugh-out-loud liberties are taken, and no joke is left unturned. Expect fun to be poked at the confusing plot of Episode I, as well as plenty of Jar-Jar bashing. This is some seriously funny stuff.

The shows will air on Disney XD beginning Monday, July 6 at 6:30pm. But check your local listings. I did, and it doesn’t come on till 9:30pm in our area (DC/FIOS).

Here are some stills from the first episode, Exit rrom Endor. It picks up right where Return of the Jedi left off, with the revelers in Ewok Town sitting back to enjoy the Star Wars saga from the beginning…
