SuperLunchNotes: SPACE WEEK!

Last week was “Space Week” on SuperLunchNotes, because Jon was also learning about space at his preschool summer program. Space Dress Up Day, Build A Rocket Day, Space Moon Bounce Day… capped off on Friday with a display of a “real rocket!” I’m not sure exactly what that entailed, but he sure was excited to tell me about it!

I even snuck in an extra surprise on Build A Rocket Day…

WEEK 48: July 7 – July 11, 2014

Buzz Lightyear  |  Nova  |  Silver Surfer  |   Miss Piggy  |  Han Solo

Serendipitously, on Wednesday I accompanied Jon’s class on a field trip… and Toy Story was the in-bus film!

Not sure who this guy is on the left? It’s Nova! He’s been around a while, but has gained some notoriety for being featured on Ultimate Spider-Man. I’m not a huge web-head, but I do dig this iteration of Spidey, where’s he’s recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. and put on a team with 4 others — all of whom go undercover as Peter Parker’s high school classmates. Think Breakfast Club meets The Avengers!

Miss Piggy from “Pigs in Space” (in case you were wondering). Piggy’s always been a bit overbearing for my tastes, but you gotta admit she certainly always looks good. Particularly in this poster, which may or may not have graced by bedroom wall in junior high.

My favorite quote from my little space cadet came Friday on our way home, after I’d asked Jon if he liked that day’s note…

“Daddy, did you know Captain Solo was a good guy?!? And he and Wookie lived on the Mellillium Falcon?!?”
