I’d said I was taking a break from theme weeks, but after I did Martian Manhunter last Monday, I caved and decided to do ALIEN WEEK! In brainstorming, I found that while DC is teeming with beings from other planets, there are significantly fewer in the Marvel universe. At least ones that my son would know. In the DCU, on the other hand, its brightest and best—Superman—is an alien among aliens. Add in all his cousins, pets and villains, the Hawks, Starfire from the Titans, all of Apokolips and the New Gods, the Green Lantern Corps, plus the entire Legion of Superheroes, and you’ve got yourself a full-scale invasion. Sinestro: 2.25.14
Oh Sinestro… so sinister, so sinveling, so um… pink. (Went with his blue Legion of Doom getup rather than his modern yellow costume. But I guess the eeeevil mustache and fuchsia skin tone gives him away, regardless.) Banana added for scale, by the way.
Silver Surfer: 2.26.14
This is the Surfer’s 2nd time in SLN, but his first time rendered using my magical silver Sharpie!
Yoda: 2.27.14
I’d just showed JJ Star Wars for the first time the previous weekend. He was bummed to find out Yoda wasn’t in it. Seeing remaining films, satisfied he will be.
The Wonder Twins: 2.28.14
Super psyched to use my new purple and lavender Sharpies! Had to show JJ some episodes of Super Friends so he’d know who these two were. WOW. I always forget how poorly that show aged.
Milestone: first twins appearance, first Jedi
