DooDad of the Day: Earth Edition

It’s not easy being green AND groovy…

But hopefully these 5 cool DooDads can help you decrease your kiddo’s carbon footprint and have some funky fun at the same time:

Giggle storage bins
Super durable, super cute, super useful. These bountiful bins are great for toys, stinky clothes or annoying younger siblings. The body is made of sturdy 100% cotton canvas, while Messrs. Monkey, Owl and Elephant are eco-spun felt, which comes from recycled water bottles. 17″ h x 20″ d. $40 each

Diaper Dude Messenger II eco diaper bag
This über-masculine diaper bag looks combat-ready and is also made of (16!) recycled water bottles, rewoven into durable polyester. Check out the handy video showcasing all the bag’s features. Just ignore the cheesy “dude” soundtrack. 17″ w x 14″ h. $98 (A portion of the proceeds donated to Global Green USA)

Uncommon Goods nightlights: glass turtlewood heron
To keep your little one from going bump in the night, this sparkly turtle nightlight (pelican also available) is made from recycled glass. 3.5″ w x 5″ h. $38 (10% of each purchase benefits Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research) The heron nightlight is handmade from reclaimed wood and has a look of weathered driftwood. Perfect for your baby beach bum. 2″ w x 3.5″ h. $20

B. Toys recyclable packaging & self-wrapping toys
In addition to having fantastically designed and cleverly named products, B. Toys has an across-the-board policy to be as green as possible. This includes using only soy-based inks, #1 recycled clear plastic, and even making some packages reversible to function as gift-wrap. To borrow their vernacular, you can’t B.eat that!

Cardboard box

When all else fails, put your kid in a cardboard box and watch their imagination run wild. It’s free, it’s reusable, and it’s rerecyclable!

Happy Earth Day from Designer Daddy!
