A Quick Note About Voting in the Midterm Election, Part 1

Voting in the November 6 midterm election has never been more important… or easier! Watch this short instructional video I whipped up, then REGISTER TO VOTE! You can also check your registration status here.

MIDTERMS, SCHMIDTERMS!

I used to have that attitude about those annoying in-between presidential elections, too. But that was before our country elected the most unqualified, immoral, and dangerous POTUS in its history. So every election — even these weird ones nobody cares about — matter. A lot.

BUT WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT THE MIDTERMS?

These are a few of the things that motivate me. If these don’t do it for you, find what it is that lights a fire under your butt.

1.Voting is the one surefire way to make your opinion heard and count. Whatever our politics, we are a country of complainers. Follow through on your online rants and put some actions behind your words.

2. Why should only the extremists have their way? The 2016 election saw the lowest voter turnout in 20 years — and it was down to the wire (some would say wires were crossed…). It’s sad and ridiculous, because voting is so damn easy. Even if you don’t know 100% how you feel about something, or you don’t feel as strongly as your neighbor, or even if you don’t care — make yourself choose. Otherwise elections will continue to be decided by the crazy people holding rallies and protests and ranting on social media and writing blog posts about voting.

3. This is how we turn the tide. This is my blog and I’ll say outright that Donald Trump is a horrible person, an embarrassment to the United States, and needs to be removed from office by any means necessary. As impeachment seems to be an allusive dream, it’s up to voters to oust anyone who even remotely supports 45. These elections may not be for a new president, but they are for a lot of important races. Go here to find out who is up for election in your state.

MORE TO COME

Stay tuned, as I’ll be following up with more important information, as well as another nifty video or two. But in the meantime, REGISTER.
